Reflexology

Much more than just a foot rub!!

“Give your body a chance to release tension and increase wellbeing through the art or Reflexology.”

What is Reflexology and is it right for you?

Reflexology is a non-invasive complementary health therapy that can be very effective in encouraging deep relaxation and wellbeing. Reducing stress and anxiety in our lives and increasing the amount of good quality sleep we get is key to optimising good health and wellbeing. Reflexology can be received by anyone at any age, from newborn babies to people receiving end of life care and anyone in between. There maybe times when the treatment is not suitable but if you have any concerns, please contact Allison to discuss.

It is a touch therapy and is based on the theory that your feet are a map of your body and working trough the whole bodies systems putting pressure on the corresponding reflexes can start to “wake up” the nervous system and get good energy and blood flowing through the systems of the body, encouraging improved sleep, relaxation, release of tension, improved mood and an increase in your overall wellbeing.

A well-trained reflexologist will not claim to cure, diagnose, or prescribe. Reflexology is a very individualised treatment specifically tailored to you as a whole person, looking at physical and non-physical factors that might be affecting the balance of your mind and body. Some people find it works for them and some people don’t, at least, you will experience an hour of complete relaxation and some time away from everyday life. The best way to find out if its right for you is to try it for yourself.

However reflexology is viewed every session received at Hypno Health will provide a time of relaxation, a supportive touch and a comfortable empathetic listening environment. Reducing stress as a one-off treatment or regular sessions can have a massive effect on the way you feel and how you cope with everyday stressors life may throw at you. Keeping your stress levels reduced can also help your physical bodies systems and your mental health to improve and balance.

Reflexology can be used safely alongside standard healthcare to promote better health, it is recognised by the NHS and Allison Merryweather the reflexologist @ Hypno Health is on the NHS website under the reflexologist’s listing.

If you are undergoing any treatments, operations or taking any medication that you are concerned about using Reflexology alongside a quick check with your medical professionals to set your mind at rest can be a good idea.

I don’t like feet!!!

If you can’t bear the thought of your feet being touched, have an injury or infection which means the foot can`t be treated, or you are worried about being ticklish don’t worry as hand reflexology is just as effective and extremely relaxing.

What your session will look like?

You can choose whether to visit Hypno Health @ 283 Acklam road or to have a home visit. Both have different appealing features so you can choose which would suit you and your needs best.

All first treatments include a medical consultation so a personalised treatment plan can be delivered and to make sure you are given a safe treatment. The whole foot will be worked covering all reflexes corresponding to all systems and organs of the body if safe to do so but extra attention can be made to reflexes that correspond to any concerning areas where there may be tension on the bodies systems.

If visiting Hypno Health, you will have a warm welcome from Allison and be shown to her therapy room which is located upstairs in the building. The room is extremely cosy and inviting making you feel relaxed and at ease immediately.

This is a lovely option if you feel some time out from your normal surroundings is what you need to switch off and unwind. After a short consultation or quick

medical catch up on subsequent treatments you will be asked to remove your shoes and sock and be made comfortable on the treatment couch, blankets or air conditioning are supplied to make your experience as comfortable as possible and to meet all your needs. Your feet will be wiped over to remove any fluff or grit picked up along your journey. A foot bath and exfoliating treatment is also available with an additional £10 charge prior to your treatment. If you would like to add this to your treatment, please specify at time of booking as extra time will be given. Wax will then be applied to both feet and reflexology will be given. Applying pressure to reflexes sometimes feels a little sore but if this is the case, please let Allison know as the pressure will be reduced slightly and extra care will be given to those reflexes to try and regain balance to corresponding areas of the body. At the end of the reflexology foot cream will be applied to both feet followed but a lovely relaxing foot massage.

Reflexology @ Hypno Health can also be requested as a mobile service where the same excellent standard of treatment can be given either in your home, workplace, or care home. Everything needed for the treatment will be provided by us including an extremely comfortable Lafuma zero gravity chair giving you complete comfort in your own surroundings.

Home visits prove very popular with the elderly or people who find getting out and about stressful or too time consuming. If childcare is an issue why not have an evening appointment so you can get the little ones settled, then treat yourself to some R&R before climbing into your bed to get the best night’s sleep you’ve probably ever had.

Mobile treatments have a small extra charge to cover travelling expenses and extra appointment time. Please message or call to find out more information if needed.
